I did try planting Garlic Chives from out of date seeds I found in the shed. These, however, failed to germinate. Next attempt was from a pot of chives purchased in the 'bargain basements' of the local supermarket. After using most of the plant in a variety of dishes, mainly egg or cheese based, I transplanted the remainder of the plant into the tub beside the mint, just to see if it would grow. I don't use very many chives, so this one plant should be enough, assuming I can get it growing. I'm thinking it'll need to be moved again, though, as the hardy mint may strangle the poor little fellow! (08/06/08 - transplanted as mint was taking over the pot!)

04/06/08 - Tiny plant but still surviving.
