25/05/08 - Monreith Animal Park to see the new arrival, born on the 19th May 2008. Family ticket, a packed lunch, sunny day & change from £20 for 4 of us.
02/06/08 - A one day cruise to the Isle of Man on the Balmoral. This was a fantastic day out and it cost under £30. We packed a substantial picnic and stuck to free entertainment. Loved it!
Douglas, Isle of Man. We went during the TT and it costs nothing to watch the street displays and look at motorbikes all day, if that's what you like doing. Thousands of them over there!
No amount of money will guarantee you the above when sailing back home into Garlieston the harbour. Photo taken around 10pm on 02/06/08 and this spectacular view was FREE.
01/07/08 - Culzean Castle and Country Park is amazing! Free entry for NTS members, too! Take a picnic, there's a whole lot to see and do! Clatteringshaws is another great place to spend a day, although there's a small fee for parking in the designated car park. Take a picnic.
Threave Castle, although we didn't take the rowing boat across for a closer view. Threave Castle Gardens - another freebie for NTS members and well worth the visit.
