I bought onion seeds
in 2008. They were on Buy One Get One Free from an eBid online auctions
seller, so I have enough to last me for the next 2 years. I planted
the seeds in a tray and left to germinate on the windowsill. I then
transplanted the stragly, pathetic looking blades of stringy grass into
the garden mid-May. They are quite amusing little plants to watch grow
as they break through the soil doubled over and then slowly unfold and
straighten. Within 2 to 3 weeks, most are flourishing, although a few
got dug up by the neighbouring cats before I had time to get the netting
all in place. The netting, again, was a 50m bargain roll from eBid.
2009 - New house, new garden and I have planted onion seeds and sets
everywhere!
