Frugal Living - Growing Parsley

I certainly don't use an awful lot of parsley, so the one pot rescued from the reduced section of the supermarket will probably be enough to establish some in the 'herb garden'. Most of it was used up before planting, as we like homemade parsley sauce with steamed or baked fish. I also chopped a few leaves for freezing and dried a few leaves for future use, so it was 19p well spent if the remainder takes root and grows. It appears to have rooted alright as there are new leaves clearly visible now. It's protected in it's own mini-cloche made from a 2 litre plastic lemonade bottle with the base cut off - we use the bases as mini jelly moulds, seed trays and mini-cloches for seedlings now.

It's now 21/03/09 and the above has been chopped, dug up, repotted twice, moved house and survived a winter under a plastic tub. This is the same little parsley plant that was 'rescued' for 19p from the supermarket clearance shelf in April 2008.

I also planted a second tub in the greenhouse.
