Frugal Living - Life around the (mini) duck pond

Pond Life

Having moved house to a place with a smaller garden, I thought I'd best think about how to fit in some form of pond to encourage the frogs & toads into the garden to help deal with slugs and snails. But the polythene liner used in the previous garden mini-pond won't do if there are ducks about, so I've compromised. Rather than having a pond, we now have more of a duck bath! It's made from a jumbo cat litter tray sunk into the ground and surrounded by rocks and wood chips.

25/04/09 - This is as far as I have got with the miniature pond project, loads still to do to disguise the plastic tub! 27/04/09 I have only a few weeks left to complete the project because we now have these cute little fellows!
29/04/09 - The mini-pond already has its first visitor, a red-eyed toad! 03/05/09 - The duck enclosure is ready for its new residents.

14/05/09 - The ducklings don't seem to mind that it's a tiny pond!
