| Strawberries
from 2008 crop. |

I started off with
4 strawberry plants, bought for £1 each in 2008. I now have 12
from the original 4. In March 2009, I purchased another 4 strawberry
plants and these are now all in wooden planters. The alpine strawberry
has been planted into the ground. (The hens have, since, practically
demolished the Alpine Strawberry. It will need to be replanted into
a container if it's to survive.)

- From one can come many; potting the shoots for next year's strawberry
crop. |
July
2008 - My 'wild' Alpine strawberry plant did well in a wooden planter
but is now in the garden. |

- One of the new strawberry plants is flowering. |
Last
year's repotted runners have started to flower in the planters at
the side of the house. |

- Strawberries & peas are flowering in the small wooden planters.
Again, everything has had to be fenced from the hens. |
07/06/09
- Strawberries beggining to grow and runners being thrown out already.
I'd like a vertical or hanging growing system for next year. |
