Happy New Year! Health, wealth and happiness to all. This is the very first day of my year-long challenge, sponsored by Cyberdosh. The challenge, as described, is to live off no more than £4,000 for an entire year, excluding mortgage/rent and Council Tax/water rates. This challenge, I cheerfully accepted before even thinking about it. By sheer luck, I had stocked the cupboards, fridge and freezer before Christmas, so I could keep the grocery bills down for the first while, at least until the Credit Card bill arrived! I also had coal and logs, enough to last a few weeks. So, after a long night of drinking, smoking (and, in the latter stages, a poker match!) I am awake, refreshed and ready to face 2007. But this is a holiday and makes it a No Spend Day (NSD) or does it?
