*** STOP PRESS *** ZOO ON A TUESDAY *** NUTS ON A TUESDAY ***
I HAVE to ask... who will win the battle between NUTS and ZOO?
I say NUTS to this!
Primarily, I think this is because the ZOO website is a load of mince and secondly, their prime TV advertising campaign depicts a woman treating all men like dogs. BAD MOVE EMAP! Or are your readers really that stupid as not to pick up on this blatant point?
On the subject of websites, both offer online registration and subscription, basic designs and layouts are similar, both have a vote now football related option. You can simply type www.nuts.co.uk for one, but not www.zoo.co.uk for the other, as it had to settle for www.zooweekly.co.uk however, www.nuts.co.uk was originally registered in 1997 by one Clair Porteus. I hope she has since enjoyed the benefits of her wisdom at announcing her not so mad madness back then!
After some further investigation, it seems obvious to me that men will grab their NUTS more often than they will a copy of ZOO. "Why?" I hear you ask. Well, women appreciate NUTS too! It is only fair to assume that if a woman wants her NUTS first thing on a Thursday morning that any male would gladly oblige by rising early and going to the newsagent without fear of reprisal!
Another point of interest is the fact that '19' magazine (by the same publisher as NUTS) is to cease this month. To me this provides indelible evidence supporting an earlier theory - that up until now, males have been reading teenage female magazines and, with the arrival of weeklys like NUTS and ZOO, their hunger for such trivia has, at last, been satisfied. Decimating the readership of '19' has resulted in its sad demise and ultimate death so watch out boys! The entire female readership of '19' may be about to descend on your NUTS!
Can we have a vote on this please? ZOO or NUTS?
