Born To Entertain!
John hails from the Coatbridge area of Lanarkshire, Scotland and joined NYK as a very promising young sports writer and entertainer in 1999, whilst studying at a local college. He is a colourful character, and one who should channel ALL his energies into what he does best... ENTERTAINING!
During the publishing times of 'Now You Know!', McDade's outlandish wit and opinionated humour both charmed and offended many - in his writing, brutal honesty is his forte.
Not surprisingly, his little 'eccentricities' left a lasting impression on most people who met him. During his early days with NYK, he went head to head (or should I say ear to ear) with Big Ped on the LTV gameshow of similar name. He could charm the birds out of the trees and his powers of persuasion were second to none... Ronan Keating on the NYK messageboards? Well, I never!

As well as being an 'NYK writer', McDade is also part of a joint writing venture with Rovin' Ronnie, and is involved in script writing and performance work.
