NOW YOU KNOW!

THE WORKSHOP

~ Our writing workshop is open to all writers ~

Welcome to our literary 'gymnasium' where we regularly work out with simple, yet rigorous, writing exercises and competitions. It is not only fun, it also helps keep creative minds fit and it could even be the springboard to your future publishing success!

If you are reading this, then it's pretty much guaranteed that it's because you have an interest in writing and that you aren't prepared to give up dreams of being published. There will be a few who simply visit here in a bid to keep tabs on us but, hey! Any publicity is good publicity! Isn't that how the saying goes?

Workshop exercises are also displayed on these pages, along with brief descriptions of the type of work required. A selection of successful submissions may be included in the next available edition of an NYK publication. In addition to these types of exercise, we suggest that writers create their own characters and ideas for future development and recommend that you set up your own chain of articles on our various messageboards where you can have your virtual 'column' incorporated into our polling system. Sign up to our FREE newsletters to find out more. You can also download a FREE sample copy of Now You Know HERE.

The above graphics are examples of subject material. Why not write a few simple words about one of our above characters, and post your work to the relevant messageboard. It is your ability to impress readers that will determine your success as a writer, so we recommend plenty of practice. Our suggested writing themes are listed at the side of this page.

Ask yourself these few simple questions and then consider your own answers -

1) When was the last time you bought a book?

2) How, where and, MOST IMPORTANTLY, why did you buy it?
