Bigvyor – a quick “User Guide”

If you haven’t yet visited us at bigvyor.com, here is a quick guide to help you find your way around the site. First of all, you may be wondering about the name? Well, it is made up of all the colours of the rainbow – except in a different order to how you may usually recognise it. The ambitious aim of the site is to become an expression of all things art in our lives.

As an artist, I am always on the look out for new ways to show my work to a wider audience and nothing does that better than the internet! There are no fees to pay so you can just follow the easy instructions to join the site and away you go! The site gives you easy access to setting up your own gallery, so no need to be a qualified web designer. Better still, you can set up as many different galleries as you like. Perhaps your work is in a variety of different media and you’d like to showcase them separately? No problem at all on Bigvyor.

Once you have set up your own gallery, you can link it up to other sites, add your profile and share it with your friends. It is very easy to update but if you have any technical problems you can always get in touch with the helpful staff at Bigvyor and they will be happy to help.

Of course, the site is not restricted to artists and values the input of anyone with an interest in the arts. You don’t have to be a contributing artist to join. Bigvyor allows you to “collect” your favourite pieces of art and display them in your own room on the site. You can then share your ideas, emotions and expressions. One of the main ideas behind the site is to help promote the rich and varied art traditions from around the world.

As with the gallery option, there are very few restrictions when creating your “Room”. You can take random objects or works of art from different categories and bring them all together in one place or you can set up multiple rooms under different headings. These rooms will be of personal interest to you but can be shared with the Bigvyor community. Of course, you are free to browse rooms created by other users and get inspiration from others.

An extra feature is the “Feed”. If you are familiar with the well known social networking sites, you will quickly grasp this feature. Bigvyor supplies you with a Feed of timelined activities from the people that you have chosen to follow. For example, you may have picked out a favourite artist on the site. If they add some new artwork, it will show up on your Feed so that you are kept right up to date. If you have just created your own gallery or room, you will also see comments from other users on your Feed.

I have been with Bigvyor for a month and I am still finding new features every day. They also welcome your feedback and suggestions to help them improve the service so don’t be frightened to get in touch. Whether you are an artist or just an art lover, I look forward to welcoming you to Bigvyor in the months ahead!
