It has been a very busy start to summer in the Ecoarts studio with a flurry of recent commissions. Driftwood horses have been completed for customers as far apart as Kent and Aberdeen while I also took a commission for a driftwood owl destined for Virginia, USA. All proceeds from artwork (after fees and shipping costs) goes towards the Frugaldom project which is home to our herd of rescued and rehomed ponies as well as the Ecoarts Sculpture Park.Sari

The latest wire sculpture has now been installed at the Frugaldom project. The mythical Kelpie has been created out of recycled chicken wire which was kindly donated. The sculpture has taken up residence beside the pond.
Two recently completed commissioned driftwood sculptures. The first is a howling wolf which has been left in the natural grey colour of the wood.
Close-up showing the head of the wolf with detailed carving for the nose and mouth.
“Guardi” the rearing horse. This has been coated with woodstain in the colour of the horse it is modelled on. All proceeds from commissioned sculptures goes towards the funding of the Frugaldom project, home to our rehomed and rescued ponies and the planned sculpture park.
The first two creations from the Ecoarts studio in 2020 were inspired by the arrival of four rescued foals at the Frugaldom project. They have a lovely nature and, once settled into their new home, began to play with great enthusiasm.
These sculptures are smaller than many of my previous works, standing around 2ft in height. They are made from driftwood, including the bases which were salvaged and sanded down to reveal a natural grain.
The second foal sculpture was also influenced by the much larger Frugaldom rearing horse. Both sculptures have been treated but are more suited to being kept indoors than my previous driftwood pieces. Contact me directly for commission details at hrmayson@aol.com.
