What better type of break than an affordable, frugal break? Here at Frugaldom, in the rural southwest Scottish countryside, we are always thinking up new ideas for fun and affordable activities that can be enjoyed by all the family and what better way to celebrate the changing seasons than by having a muddy wellies weekend?

  

Short breaks (or longer, if you want) are offered at our privately owned, 2-bedroom static caravan, which is located at Three Lochs Holiday Park near Newton Stewart in Dumfries & Galloway. (If you'd like to look up the location, the post code is DG8 0EP) It's only 1 mile from the Frugaldom project and surrounded by lochs, rivers, fields and forests.

The caravan has one double bedroom with en suite, a small twin room, separate shower room, plus an open plan kitchen, living room and dining area. We include board games and DVDs, but bring your own wellington boots, winter woollies and waterproofs for muddy walks around the lochs, through the forest and around Frugaldom.

This is a great place for stargazing, bird spotting and wildlife watching. Explore the area, spot the ecoarts animals and visit Frugaldom, where you can explore the muddy paths, visit the den, plant willows around the muddy pond and meet the 'mud monster' ponies.

The caravan has its own bird feeding station right outside, so you can watch for woodpeckers, nuthatches, jays and numerous other small birds, plus the resident tawny owls often land here at night. It's a haven for wildlife. (Watch out for the rabbits!)

There's fishing, rowing, swimming, shooting, archery and pitch & putt golf, plus there's a family friendly (and dog friendly) pub serving snacks and bar meals.

Complimentary tea, coffee, sugar & milk are provided.

£50 deposit secures (we accept PayPal) with the balance payable on arrival. At only £100 for up to 4 people sharing, it's a fabulously frugal break. In order to keep our frugal breaks affordable, prices are based on our gusets bringing ther own linen and towels but these can be supplied at a cost of £10 per person.
